How do I become a member of the Library?
The Library and Knowledge Service is here to facilitate evidence-based decision making at East Cheshire NHS Trust. We can support your information needs in a variety of ways and have a wide range of resources for you to use, clinical and non-clinical. This includes access to books and journals, databases, clinical decision support tools (UpToDate, BMJ Best Practice and RCNi Decision Support Tool), bulletins to help you keep up-to-date with new research, and much more. There are also PCs and study facilities, including a quiet study room. Information on all our services and resources can be found on our website, via the related links section below. We can provide help and training on how to use these resources, and a general enquiry service.
Most resources are accessed with an NHS Athens username and password. You can create a free NHS Athens account by completing the online form in the links below.
During the pandemic the library is operating a virtual service. We can continue to operate all our services remotely so please get in touch. The physical library space is still available 24/7 for Trust staff to use the PCs and study facilities, and to borrow or return books. Outside of office hours swipe into New Alderley House with your Trust ID badge. There is also a book return box in the main hospital corridor, near the RVS shop.
