Reward and Recognition

Our Reward & Recognition Framework seeks to describe how the trust recognises exceptional contributions and commitment to the organisation.

The Trust Reward and Recognition Framework (see related documents below) provides further information about the schemes outlined above and other schemes.

How do I nominate for colleague and team of the month?

You should complete the nomination form (see related documents below). All nominees receive a letter of thanks from the chief executive. Winners of colleague of the month receive high street shopping vouchers worth £75. Team of the month winners receive £400 to spend. All winners are presented with their prize by a board member and their achievement is celebrated via the staff matters newsletter and on the main MDGH welcome wall.

How does the trust recognise long service?

The trust values the loyalty of its employees and recognises the contribution that all staff make to the Trust on an ongoing basis. With this in mind, long service is acknowledged under this scheme at 5 yearly intervals with a letter of thanks. In addition, each colleague eligible for a 20 years continuous service will receive High Street Gift vouchers to the value of £150, a certificate and an invitation to a Celebration Ceremony presentation. The organisation will provide a Long Service Award to any current former CECH employee who has completed 25 years continuous service, as per the CECH policy.

How can I send a thank you note to a colleague?

The Trust has a standard thank you note (see related documents below). The aim of the thank you note is to support and facilitate a culture of ‘saying thank you’, and to develop a culture of appreciation both within teams and throughout the wider Trust.

I have a suggestion for an improvement which I think will help the trust, what shall I do?

All suggestions are welcome from staff which will contribute to increased or improved patient care or improved ways of working whilst maintaining financial viability. You should complete and submit a Staff Suggestion form (see related documents below). Staff whose suggestions are implemented will be involved with the implementation process, should they wish, and will also receive High Street vouchers to the value of £100.

How do I find out more about the Annual Staff Awards?

The Staff Awards provide an opportunity to recognise the excellent work of staff throughout the Trust and to highlight the good practice of individuals and teams. Communications are circulated on an annual basis with regards to the nomination process, and shortlisted colleagues will be invited to a Trust funded Awards Evening. Information is uploaded onto the Trust Infonet (see related sites below)
